Girls Take Action

V Dubz’s journey toward realizing her dream began in 2009, when she and Lady Blazer emerged as some of the few all-female acts in the Drum'n'Bass scene. Recognizing the distinctiveness of their collaboration, V Dubz and Lady Blazer continued to perform together on the renowned radio station Rough Tempo. Their show, “Feminine Takeover,” became a platform to elevate female talent in a genre that had long marginalized women's voices. Despite facing resistance, it was evident to V Dubz that the male-dominated Drum'n'Bass world perceived “Feminine Takeover” as a challenge to the status quo. Nevertheless, V Dubz bided her time, working on her own successful career and waiting for the right opportunity to make a significant impact.

In 2014, V Dubz returned with renewed determination, this time collaborating with MC Enamie. Together with Lady Blazer, they once again took to the Rough Tempo airwaves, making history by featuring over 15 talented women from across the country—a groundbreaking moment in Drum'n'Bass. Driven by their success, V Dubz sought to create more opportunities for female artists. In 2015, she brought together several emerging talents from the drum and bass scene for another all-female show on Rough Tempo. The idea resonated with ravers and supporters of the GTA brand, cementing its reputation as a go-to platform for discovering and promoting female talent. The final addition to the crew was Iffy, the youngest and most promising MC in the group. With her inclusion, GTA—Girls Take Action—underwent a rebranding, evolving into the esteemed Drum'n'Bass crew it is today, beloved by fans and enthusiasts alike.
